Kilimanjaro FAQ

How long does it take to climb Kilimanjaro?

Most climbs take six to nine days on the mountain. Longer itineraries give your body more time to acclimatise and significantly raise your chance of reaching Uhuru Peak (5,895 m).

Which route has the highest success rate?

The nine-day Northern Circuit and eight-day Lemosho routes, thanks to their gradual profiles and extra acclimatisation nights.

Do I need climbing experience?

No. Kilimanjaro is a long high-altitude trek, not a technical climb. General fitness and a slow, steady pace matter most.

When is the best time to climb?

January to mid-March and June to October are driest and clearest. Rongai works well in the wetter shoulder months.

What is included in the price?

Park and rescue fees, guides, porters and cooks, all mountain meals, camping or hut accommodation, transfers and two hotel nights in Moshi.
